Jimmy Doyle White, Sr. was born February 17, 1945 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to the late Joel White and Alma (Lindsey) White.
To this union 2 children were born, Jimmy and Charlene Dawn.
Jimmy enlisted into the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War where he proudly served aboard the U. S. S. Guardfish. While stationed in Philadelphia, Pa., he met, and later married, Celestine McRae, who proceeded him in death on July 16, 2014 and from this union 5 children were born: Jimmy(Charlotte), Kenneth(Mimi), Angela(Lamont), Daman(Monica) and Trecia.
Jimmy graduated from Philander Smith College with a degree in psychology. For many years, he served in the mental health field until he retired in 2010 from Goodwill Industries of Arkansas. He was a proud member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and would later serve as a Deacon until his death.
Jimmy later married Linda (Haire) Ingram who proceeded him in death on May 27, 2012. He enjoyed photography, traveling, spending time with his family, cooking, discussing current events, working on cars, getting his hands dirty by tinkering on his lawn and, just like those before him, he loved to fish or sometimes as he called it… “drowning worms “
Jimmy Sr. was a dedicated father, grandfather and great grandfather. He had three (3) brothers: Joel White, Jr. (Sonny), J. C. White and Aaron White; seven (7) sisters: Zola Standard, Frankie Calvin, Charlene Dawn, Earlene Dawn, Betty Bush, Djuanna Chambers and Sharon Rule.
He leaves behind to cherish his legacy and memory, his children: Jimmy (Charlotte), Kenneth(Mimi), Angela(Lamont), Daman(Monica), Trecia and Leonna, 23 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. All of whom he loved unconditionally.A visitation will be held Friday, October 14, from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Elect Temple Church of God in Christ in Benton with a funeral service following at 12:00 PM.
