Jimmy Hurst

Jimmy Dale Hurst, age 61, of Curtis, died Thursday, August 4, 2011 at his home. He was born December 6, 1949 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, the son of Clarence Ray and Myrtle D. Hunter Hurst. Jimmy Dale was a mechanic, equipment operator and a U. S. Army veteran. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Ray Hurst and one brother, Clifton Ray Hurst.

Survivors include one son, Rodney Dale Hurst of Gurdon, Arkansas; two daughters, Paula Ann Neighbors and husband, David, Mesheyl Garner and husband, Shane both of Hot Springs, Arkansas; his mother, Myrtle Burton of Curtis, Arkansas; one brother, Russell Hurst of Curtis, Arkansas; one sister, Martha Treadway of Bismarck, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Caroline, Jeremy, Breanna, Kayla, Gavyn and Ember; one great-granddaughter, Nevaeh; three nieces and one nephew.

Funeral services will 2:00 PM Sunday, August 7th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Bro. Brian Henry officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be David Neighbors, Shane Garner, Mitch Pennington, David Franklin, Charles McKin and Leon Hathcoat. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital or to a favorite veterans fund.
