Jimmy Wayne Herring

Jimmy Wayne Herring, 81, of North Little Rock, died Thursday, March 16, 2023. He was born April 17, 1941 to the late, John L. and Ann Herring. He is survived by his wife, Pat Herring, who he was married to for 62 years. He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy C. Herring and his grandson, Brandon C. Herring, his two siblings, Elizabeth Anne Prause, and John C. Herring.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Herring, his daughter, Robbie Smith (Jim) and his son, Judd Herring (MaRanda); nine grandchildren, Dallas (Brittany), Thomas (Whitney), and Tiffany Smith, Carson, Emory, Lincoln, and Lake Herring, Breanna Thomas (James); and three great-grandchildren, Jayde James, Evander and Gemma Smith.

He was jeweler for over 50 years, and owned, “The Gem Shop.” He loved baseball where he played and coached for many years. He and his son, Jay, both went to the Little League World Series. They were the first father- son combination who played there. He was inducted into the Softball Hall of Fame in 2004. One of his favorite things to do was going to Oaklawn on the weekends. He loved watching the “Razorbacks” and had two members of his family graduate from the University of Arkansas.

Visitation will begin at 12:30 PM, followed by the funeral at 1:30 PM, Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home.  Interment will be at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
