Jimmy Norman Evans, born on January 7, 1956, in Helena, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in his home on March 11, 2025, in Searcy, Arkansas at the age of 68. He was the beloved son of James Gordon Evans and Joyce Evans.

“Moochie”, as he was affectionately called was a vibrant personality and was always remembered by those who met and had the privilege to know him. He will be remembered for his quick smile, friendly nature and booming voice. He greeted everyone he met and never knew a stranger. He had a soft heart for those in need and will be remembered for his generosity. He touched many lives in his lifetime.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father James Gordon Evans, mother Joyce Evans and brother Paul Gordon Evans.

He is survived by his wife Melanie Evans; His sister Deborah Ann Fendley (Mark), brother Micah Wesley Evans (Deanna); four sons Jimmy Norman Evans Jr., Jeremiah Micah Evans, Jon Paul Evans (Nicole), Jason Wayne Evans (Kaelyn); two daughters Jeanette Evans (Victor), Candice Evans; his 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren which he loved dearly.

After his graduation from South San Antonio High school in 1975 he joined the Air Force and then served in the Army at Ft. Knox, Ft. Bliss, Germany and Korea. He retired honorably after achieving the rank of E7. During his career and service, he served as torque mechanic, Abrams tank maintenance supervisor and senior instructor. After leaving his service he attended the University of Maryland. He was a member of the Green River #88 F & A.M. in Munfordville, Ky and a Kentucky Colonel.

The family will gather at Smith Westbrook funeral home in Beebe, Arkansas. 404 W Dewitt Henry Drive from 9am-11am on March 14, 2025. Graveside service will be at 2pm at Oak Grove Cemetery in Moro, Arkansas. May Jimmy’s Memorial be a blessing to those who knew and loved him.
