Jimmy DeLoyd Bragg, husband of Ann T. Bragg, died Nov. 16, 2016, in Arkadelphia, AR. Jim was born in Lepanto, AR on July 24, 1943 to the late Joseph Daniel Bragg and the late Jeraldean Steakley Bragg; paternal grandparents, the late Earl & Lee Etta Bragg of Mark Tree, AR; maternal grandparents, the late B.F. Steakley & Mamie Landcaster Steakley of Lepanto; and sister, Linda Bragg Britt, of Nesbit, MS.

Jim graduated from Lepanto High School in 1961, received his B.S. and M.S. in Biology from Arkansas State University at Jonesboro, and PhD in Biology from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Traci Bragg.

Survivors include his loving wife and precious children, Tonya Gale Upperman and husband Paul, of Benton, AR., Christy Lawrence of Baton Rouge, LA., Cindy Weiler of Blue Springs, MO., Warren Johnson and wife Missy, of Hope, AR., nine grandchildren (his greatest joy); Garth Upperman, Dillon Upperman, Heath Lawrence and wife, Amanda, Haley Lawrence Barbera and husband Dane, Nick Weiler, Keller Weiler, Grant Weiler, Jacob Johnson, Liam Johnson, two great- grandchildren; Reese Lawrence and Tristan Barbera, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.

Jim retired from Henderson State University after teaching for 37 years, was a proud member of the Arkadelphia Bass Club, The American Society for Microbiology, as well as several other professional societies. He also headed the microbial studies of DeGray Lake, for the Army Corp of Engineers, during his career.

A memorial visitation will be from 1-3 pm Saturday, November 19th at the Ruggles Wilcox Funeral Home, in Arkadelphia, AR..
