Jimmy Bailey

Jimmy Bailey, age 87, of Murfreesboro, AR, was called to his heavenly home on December 18, 2024.

Jimmy was born on the 11th day and 9th month of 1937 in Pike City, AR, to Otis Bailey and Rvena Jackson Bailey.

Early in life Jimmy learned to work hard. He worked alongside his daddy in the logwoods and would travel to Indiana to work in the tomato industry every summer. Eventually he bought a chicken farm and farmed the rest of his life. On December 27, 1963, Jimmy married the love of his life, Wanda Morrow (Bailey.) Together they built a life based on God, family, and love. 

Jimmy and Wanda raised four children and countless flocks of chickens. Jimmy always worked hard and always loved his family fiercely. He was a generous and kind man and he always had a story to tell.

He was greeted at Heaven's gate by his son, Keith Edward Bailey; his parents Otis and Rvena Jackson Bailey; and his six brothers, Otis Bailey, Jr., Carl Bailey, Leroy Bailey, Heshel Bailey, Paul Bailey, and Olan Bailey.

Left here to honor his memory is his loving wife of 61 years, Wanda Bailey; his three daughters, Michelle Bailey and her husband, Leo Davis, Jimmie Hughes and her husband Michael, and Mary Coleman and her husband, Charlie, all from Nashville; his seven grandchildren, Bailey White, Levi Hughes, Dale White, Lane Hughes, Mason Davis, Keith Coleman, and Colton Coleman, also all of Nashville; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jimmy Bailey left a legacy of love and laughter. He will be missed and celebrated by a host of family and friends. Until they meet him again, in Heaven. 

Pallbearers will be Levi Hughes, Bailey White, Jimmy Jordan, Steve Ward, Brian Hill, and Charlie Marlow.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Lane Hughes, Mason Davis, Keith Coleman, and Colton Coleman.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Ridgeway Baptist Church in Nashville with Bro. Allen Cook officiating. 

Visitation will be held prior to services on Saturday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Ridgeway Baptist Church.

Interment will be held at Pike City Cemetery.
