Jimmie Golden

Jimmie Golden, age 89 of Sherwood, AR passed away peacefully on July 24, 2023. He was born on March 10, 1934, and was the son of Joe Carl and Essie Ruth (Mason) Golden.

Jimmie retired from Southwestern Bell after 30+ years of service. He spent his remaining years enjoying time with his wife, children and grandchildren. On Friday nights, you would often find him at the Bill Harmon Center playing his guitar and singing along with others who had gathered. He could pick up most any instrument and play it. He was always asking to serenade the family with his harmonica. He and his wife, Johnny, loved to travel to Branson and shop and attend music shows.

He was a faithful member of Somers Avenue Church of Christ where he served most of his adult life alongside his church family.

We will all miss him, his humor, his love for his family, and how he would do anything for anybody that needed him. We can rest knowing he is now in heaven and reunited with his wife.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnny Lou (Bates) Golden; his parents, Joe Carl and Essie Ruth (Mason) Golden; brothers, Mason Golden, Emmett Golden and Bill Golden; sisters, Syble (Golden) Duvall and Mary Ann (Golden) Ford. He is survived by his son Brian Golden (Vickie); daughter, Kim Shaw (Terry); grandchildren, Megan Golden, Spencer Golden (Amy) and Madison Shaw; and great grandson, Killian Golden.
