Jim Hoper

On November 8, 2024, God called an Angel home. Jim was born on June 29, 1957, in Hartley, Iowa, to the late Doris and James E. Hoper. He was the youngest of 3 siblings. Predeceased by his brother, Steve.

Jim was a man who had so many qualities. He was a humble person, never expecting praise or commendation, only the fact that he had done what was right. He was so many things, to so many people. Always helpful, quick to lend a hand to help anyone who needed it. Jim was quiet, but outspoken. Kind and loving, but stern in those times when sternness was needed. He held high standards, and was a wonderful role model for his children and grandchildren—All of whom he loved so very much.

Jim worked in the automotive industry for over 40 years. In his work, he was honest, devoted, and dedicated to his employer, co-workers, and even his customers. Many who kept in touch with him over the years. He made many journeys, far and wide, mostly while working with Chevrolet. And oh, did he love to reminisce of those trips! Especially, the trip to Hong Kong!

Jim made sure his family never lacked for anything, even making a trip to Illinois to pick up 2 pug puppies, in which his wife and he delighted in. In his retirement, he took much pleasure in doing yardwork. He was a perfectionist and needless to say, everything was always meticulous. Jim’s biggest accomplishment through, were his sons. He was so proud of the men that they have become. He leave to cherish his memory; his sister, Ann Steinberg (Jeff); his loving wife of 25 years, Susan Hoper; sons: Jason Hoper (Tammie), Jacob Hoper, and Brian Wainwright (Rhose); grandchildren: Jarin Hoper, Korben Wainwright, Noah Fuqua, Layla Hoper, Luka Hoper, and Rhett Hoper; along with a host of family and friends; and his sweet dogs, Lilly and Lottie.
