Jim Dorn Young, 76, of Benton, Arkansas passed away December 28, 2022. He was born on June 16, 1946, in Plainfield, New Jersey to the late Lawrence Sydney and Marcia (Rosen) Young.
Jim proudly served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He had the most caring, loving heart. His heart grew when he married the love of his life, Anna Rose Young, and welcomed she and her children into his home. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather. He loved his children as his own and provided a wonderful life for them. Jim would do anything for anyone at any time. He loved the Lord and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bryant. You never saw Jim without a root beer or cup of coffee in his hand. Family remembers their can smashing days, where the family would smash cans and cash them in, using the proceeds for family trips. Jim and Anna loved hunting for treasure at yard sales and were very successful with holding their own sales. Building model cars was a favorite hobby that Jim shared with his sons and grandsons. Jim’s favorite thing to do was spend time with his family, whether they were doing a family cookout, playing cards, or going camping.
Preceding Jim in death are his loving wife, Anna Rose Young; daughter, Christy Young; parents, Lawrence and Marcia Young; great-grandchildren: Cassidy, Xavier, and Randall, Jr.; and sister, Martha Chapman.
Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory his children: Edward Morrison of Oregon, Dianna Baldwin (Scott) of New Hampshire, Jay Dale Morrison (Lynn) of Paragould, Arkansas, Kevin Morrison (Tammy) of Benton, Lauralee Toland (Steve) of Benton, Peggy Wayman (David) of Benton, Johnny Morrison (Gwen) of Michigan, and Darla Morrison of Michigan; daughter-in-law, Sue Scholze of Michigan; 31 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; siblings: Sharon Horton of Grandview, Missouri, Larry Young (Leanna) of Lubbock, Texas, Shelly Young of Copperas Cove, Texas, Lisa Clark (Jerry) of Pangburn, Arkansas, Lila Conner (Tony) of Welston, Oklahoma, Edward Hendrix (Teresa) of Judsonia, Arkansas, Maurice Hendrix (Petra) of Judsonia, Arkansas, Royce Hendrix of Percel, Oklahoma, Boyce Hendrix (Rita) of Bald Knab, Arkansas, Fernon Hendrix (Wendy) of Newalla, Oklahoma, and John Hendrix (Vicki) of Pangburn, Arkansas; and a host of many family members and friends who love Jim and will miss him always.
