Jim Bridges, 68, of North Little Rock passed away Friday, April 24, 2009. He is now at peace and gone to be with his Heavenly Father. He was employed at Kroger's as a produce merchandiser for 32 years. He served four years in the U. S. Navy and was a member of Cross Point Baptist Church in North Little Rock. Jim was also an officer of the North Little Rock Church Softball Association for over 30 years and inducted into the Women?s Hall of Fame in 2008, but most of all Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather and he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Bridges of North Little Rock; two daughters, Kim (Bill) Wilmot of North Little Rock and Shannon (Kevin) Sweetin of Cabot; six grandchildren, Lanzy Brazear, Willis Brazear, Brooke Taylor, Hayden Taylor, Brandon Wilmot and Taylor Sweetin; mother, Elva Lee Bridges of North Little Rock; brother, Tommy (Janice) of Fort Worth, Texas; sister, Brenda (Jimmy) Bryant of Gravel Ridge and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Willis Bridges.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Lawrence Mendelsohn for his loving care and continued support.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 901 N. University, Little Rock, Arkansas 72207.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon, Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., Sunday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St. 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
