Jetta Faye Johnson, 91, of Beebe, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022. She was born January 17, 1931, in Judsonia, Arkansas to the late Gus and Carrie Hooper Salmon. She met her husband, Jefferson Johnson, in White County and they married in 1946. Over the span of their 70-year marriage, they owned and operated numerous flea markets, auctions, rental properties and even a grocery store. They thoroughly enjoyed going to auctions and karaoke together. Faye served for several years as a seamstress and enjoyed making clothes and other items for her children and grandchildren. Her heart was genuinely and entirely with her family. “Granny Johnson” was the core of the family and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for her children or dozens of grandchildren. She spent her years rocking babies, making perfect biscuits and gravy, and caring for those she loved. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was loved tremendously and will be incredibly missed. Faye was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 70 years, Jefferson Johnson, daughter, Linda Austin, son-in-law, John Adams, two brothers, two sisters, and a grandson, Ricky Lee Johnson.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Smith (Butch), and Pat Adams; son, Rick Johnson; son-in-law, Tommy Austin; 11 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 14 great great-grandchildren; a sister, Velma Randall, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visitation will be Monday, May 2nd from 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3rd; both at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe. The family would like to thank the staff of Beebe Retirement Center for their care and compassion for Faye for the last two years.
