Jessie Wilbourn

Jessie Ruth (Harrison) Wilbourn, formerly of Little Rock, entered into her Heavenly Father's presence on July 15, 2017 at the age of 88. Ruth was born on July 16, 1928 in Bunn, Arkansas to Hugh Vance Harrison and Conie Ethel Harkins Harrison. Her family moved to Fordyce where she attended school and resided until she married Thomas Crowell Wilbourn on September 21, 1947. She resided in Little Rock for most of her life, where she was a member of Little Rock's First Baptist Church for 42 years. She recently moved to Jonesboro to be closer to her daughter and became a member of Highland Drive Baptist Church.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Ethel Leslie and Bernice Barrow, and two infant daughters, Connie Lynn and Linda Wilbourn. She is survived by her sister, Vera Simonson of Little Rock; daughter, Chris Ann Wilbourn Rutherford (Mark) of Bay, Arkansas; and two grandchildren, Becca Rutherford and Josiah Rutherford.

Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park on Wednesday, July 19 at 10:00 a.m., led by her son-in-law, Rev. Mark A. Rutherford. A memorial service will follow at Little Rock First Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Dr. Jonathan Curtis and Dr. John B. Wright. There will also be a memorial service conducted at South Wind Heights in Jonesboro on Saturday, July 22 at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Dr. Johnny Hutchison. Memorial gifts may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or to the Missions Fund of Highland Drive Baptist Church, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
