Jessie Earline Redwine

Jessie Earline Redwine, age 89, of Mountain Pine, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023.

She was born on April 3, 1934, in Jessieville, the daughter of Louie Mitchell Murders and Mary Ella Shaw Murders.  On January 3, 1953, she married the love of her life, Virgil Redwine.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband; her parents; one sister, Elva Rosenthall; and two brothers, Lonnie Murders and Robert Alvin Murders.

She graduated from Jessieville High School in 1953.  When Walmart came to Hot Springs, Jessie went to work at Store #52 and worked as a department manager in the children and women’s clothing department for 16 years until she retired.  She was a Christian and a member of Harvey’s Chapel Baptist Church. 

Jessie was a wonderful hostess and enjoyed entertaining whoever would come and sit at her table partaking of her wonderful meals and bake goods.  She enjoyed working in her vegetable garden and flower beds.  Her family meant the world to her, and she will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, John Paul and Nancy Redwine of Mountain Pine; one brother, Larry Murders; two sisters, Betty Lou Johnson and Beverly Turner; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, October 18, 2023, with Bro. Joe Thompson officiating in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.

Interment will be in the Scott Cemetery, Mountain Pine.

Visitation will be held 6:00PM until 8:00PM, Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are John Caldwell, Richard Murders, Charles Miller, Jerrmey Miller, Jason Miller and Cody Turner.

Honorary pallbearers are the Pines Nursing and Rehab Center and staff, CHI St. Vincent Hospital and staff, and Arkansas Hospice at CHI St. Vincent.
