Jesse Whitley

Rev. Jesse Whitley, 100, of Mabelvale, passed away July 7, 2020.  Born in Texarkana to Walter and Martha Cunningham Whitley, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and he pastored various churches around the state for 36 years.

Preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Allie Carlton Cox, his wife, Naomi Whitley, five brothers and one sister, he is survived by his son, A.T. Cox (Penny) of Falcon, Arkansas, daughter, Vicki Lynn Cumbie of Pearland, Texas, seven grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, July 10, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00, at East End Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Doug Hibbard.  Interment with Military Honors will follow at Salem Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East End Baptist Church, 4701 East End Rd., Hensley, AR 72065.
