Jesse Leonard

Jesse C. Leonard, 90, of Austin, Arkansas, died Sunday, November 29, 2015. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, and was retired from Douglas & Lomasen. Jesse was a loving father and grandfather. He loved gardening, outdoors, squirrel hunting, and nothing made him happier than driving the roads and seeing new things. In his younger years he was an excellent athlete and excelled in baseball. In his latter years he was very proficient in his rocking chair.

He is survived by three daughters, Sandra Collins of Jacksonville, Elizabeth Glover and husband Larry of Austin, and Denise Presley and husband Scott of Austin; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Billy Leonard of Lonoke, Harvey Leonard of West Plains, Missouri and Glenn Leonard of Aubrey; two sisters, Gracie Eddleman of Jackson, Tennessee, and Ann English of Conway.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Mary Ann Leonard; wife Liz; son, Ernest Leonard; sister Vella Pruitt; and brothers Elmo and Thomas.

Family will receive friends beginning at noon Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, with funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Old Austin Cemetery. Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, a certified Veterans Care provider.
