Jesse Wisdom Harrod, age 82, of North Little Rock was born September 13, 1923. He was taken home to be with the Lord, July 14, 2006. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, serving on the U.S.S. Nelson, U.S. S. Strong and the U.S. S. Dixie. He retired as an Optician and was a Charter Member of the Arkansas Optical Association. He was also a member of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Harrod was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mellie Harrod, his first wife, Jane Harrod, two daughters, Deborah Porter and Renee Burns, and sister, Flodean Apple. He is survived his wife, Verna Harrod; four sons and wives, Dave and Mary Harrod, Corky and Donna Garner, Rusty and D.D. Garner and Mike and Rachelle Fox; daughter and husband, Mitzie and Greg Hendrix; sons-in-law, Bob Burns and Jim Porter and wife, Kylnn Porter; sister, Leta Wagner, 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Tuesday at Crystal Hill Assembly of God Church. Burial will be at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
