Jesse Leroy Cooper Jr., age 49, of Amity, passed away after a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis on Wednesday, January 13, 2016. He was born October 24, 1966 in Prescott, Arkansas to Betty Cooper and the late Jesse Cooper Sr. Leroy was a great husband and father who always worked hard to provide for his family. Married on July 11, 1984 to Sandra Darlene Cooper, they had two children. Leroy will be remembered for his wit, sense of humor, and his generosity.
Leroy was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Cooper Sr.
He leaves behind his wife Sandra Cooper (Amity), son Jesse Leroy Cooper III (Glenwood), daughter Chontelle Cooper (Hot Springs), mother Betty Cooper (Marvell), two brothers, Jimmy Tolliver Cooper (Amity) and Joseph Patrick Cooper (San Diego, CA), three sisters, Elizabeth Ann Hensley (Marvell), Robin Lee Cogburn (Glenwood), and Cynthia Darlene Trujillo (Mt. Pine).
Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2016 at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Graveside funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Copeland Ridge Cemetery with Bro. Eric Wehunt officiating.
Pallbearers include: Dean Cogburn, Jason Cogburn, Sammy Watters, Bobby Hill, Michael Neal Barkman, Shannon (Shorty) Davis, and Cecil Ward.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio St., Suite 304, Chicago, IL 60611-3201 (888-733-6741).
