Jerry Duane Wallace, age 72, of Hot Springs, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 28, 2022.

He was born on December 7, 1949, in Hot Springs, the son of J.D. Wallace and Doris Mahan Wallace. On July 9, 1971, he married Martha Herring.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jerry was a Christian in his faith and pastored many Missionary Baptist Churches, Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, Sycamore Missionary Baptist Church, Fayetteville, Missionary Baptist Student Fellowship, Hammond, Louisiana, Mission Word, Southeastern Louisiana, Butterfield Missionary Baptist Church, Malvern, New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Benton and Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church, Prattsville.   Although he was a minister, he was a jokester and loved playing pranks on unsuspecting folks.  He was very outgoing and never met a stranger, making friends wherever he went.  He loved the outdoors, hunting deer, and riding his bright red Harley Davidson.  Jerry also helped the Garland County Search and Rescue team.  He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Martha Wallace of Hot Springs; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jared Wallace of Spanish Fort, Alabama, and Jeff Wallace and Jessica Wallace; three grandchildren, Grace Wallace, Gavin Wallace and Grady Wallace, all of Magnet Cove; extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 1, 2022, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.

Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be 10:00AM-11:00AM, prior to the service.

Pallbearers are Keith Harkins, Jim Mullins, Ryan Jones, Daryl Wallace, Lonnie Wallace and Jeff Caple.

Honorary pallbearers are John Sligar, the doctors and staff of CHI St. Vincent Hospital, Hot Springs, Dr. Mary Ann Harrington and the American Baptist Association of Ministers.
