Jerry R. Wheeler, age 70, of Mount Ida, died Saturday, November 9, 2013. He was born on March 3, 1943, at Norman, the son of Dall J. Wheeler and Druscilla Lucille Weston Wheeler. On December 1, 1963, he was married to Uvonne Betts. He was an automobile mechanic and had worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was an Emergency Medical Technician and worked with the ambulance service in Montgomery County. He was a member of the Mount Ida Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Uvonne Wheeler; two children and their spouses, Lisa and Terry Beavers and Jerry Don and Michelle Wheeler, all of Mount Ida; two granddaughters, Chasiti Brewer and her husband, Marcus, of Vilonia and Bindi Wheeler of Mount Ida; his great-grandson, Trace Brewer of Vilonia; his mother, Lucille Wheeler of Abilene, Texas; his sister, Virginia Bailey of Abilene, Texas; two brothers, J. L. Wheeler and Don Wheeler, both of Mount Ida; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in the Mount Ida First Baptist Church with Rev. Patrick Saveall officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Owley Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Mike Mayberry, Mike Brown, Reith Stanley, Marty Mayberry, Joey Fryar and Galen Burke. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard and Jo Childress, Wendell Adams, Jr., Dr. Robert Parrott, Gilbert Tillery, the employees of Martin Marrietta Asphalt Company, Eddie Williams, Faye, Marian, Wanda, Byron Nelson, J.
