Jerry Pool

Jerry Lee Pool died on Monday, June 7, 2021, at Baptist Medical Center, following an extended illness. The Lord called him home in a peaceful manner, with his family by his side as he took his last breath.

This gentle, loving, caring and wonderful man has left a permanent mark etched on our hearts and will be supremely missed by his mother, Wanda Pool, his sister, Theresa (Bobby) Riggs, his brother, David (Kathy) Pool, and his two sons, Jeremy Pool and Aaron Pool. He was predeceased by his father, David S. Pool. Family was a pivotal essence of Jerry’s life. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

Born in Dallas, Texas and growing up in Ward, Arkansas, Jerry spent the rest of his life in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was a quiet, gentle, and kind man who continually inquired into and looked after the welfare of others, never discussing, or showing, his own personal pain. He provided a great deal of care for his mother over the past 12 years, in her ailing health.

Jerry was a dedicated, life-long health nut who loved working out and caring for his body. He was a movie fanatic – many genres, but especially Godzilla and King Kong. A favorite leisure activity was taking a son and nephew to some really good action movies.

Jerry held the highest integrity in his labors; he was the most hardworking, dedicated, and loyal employee that an employer could ever wish for and can be demonstrated by his many “Employee of the Month” awards from Fed-Ex.

Jerry had a close and personal relationship with God and loved his church family at Hillcrest Community Church. He will be forever remembered for his sweet smile, gentle eyes, caring heart, and unconditional love.  Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate his life and find comfort that he is in heaven watching over us

The family would like to thank all the healthcare professionals in the ICU and ECH of Little Rock’s Baptist Medical Center for their great care in these last few weeks of Jerry’s life.

A Memorial service will be held in Conway, Arkansas on Friday, June 11 at 6 p.m. For those who wish, memorial donations in memory of Jerry may be made to Hillcrest Community Church.
