Jerry Oates

Jerry Ronald Oates, 86, of Alexander, passed away October 5, 2016. Born in Atkins, Arkansas to Aubrey and Bennie Canerday Oates, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Mabelvale Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Terry Oates of Benton; sons, Terry R. Oates and wife, Regina of Bryant and Jimmy L. Oates of Benton; daughter, Sandra J. Hanna and husband, Brian of Bryant; brother, Joe B. Oates and wife, Joyce of Little Rock; grandchildren, Matthew Oates, Zach Hanna (Christin) and Amelia McGill (Ricky), all of Bryant; mother-in-law, Ethel Terry of Fayetteville; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be this evening, Friday, October 7 from 5-7 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Services will be held on Saturday, October 8 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Dale Brown. Interment with Military Honors will be held on Friday, October 14 at 1:00 p.m. at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
