Jerry Dean Mooney

Jerry Dean Mooney, age 60, of Bonnerdale, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024.

He was born on February 7, 1964, in Hot Springs. He was the son of Otis Eugene Mooney and Shirley Weatherford Mooney. He was preceded in death by his father; his paternal grandparents, Otis and Ruth Mooney; his maternal grandparents, Lessel and Freda Weatherford; and his brother, Greg Mooney.

Jerry was a member of Bonnerdale Seventh Day Adventist Church where he loved being involved in the young people ministry and was a Pathfinder Leader and a Sabbath School Teacher for many years. Jerry was a jack of all trades, working in construction and logging. He was a cowboy. Jerry was the Bonnerdale Fire Department Fire Chief for over ten years where he saved and helped countless lives in this community. Jerry was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, and friend and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. 

He is survived by mother, Shirley Mooney of Bonnerdale; his sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Ralph Evans of Bonnerdale; his brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Mindy Mooney of Bonnerdale; his sister-in-law, Mary Womack and her husband Lance of Point Cedar; his best friend, Daniel Rodgers; his two special friends, Anna Lambeth and Eric Bray; along with many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Pallbearers will be Chris Evans, David Mooney, Jonathon Mooney, Jeremy White, Colton Horton, Stetson Horton, Kelly Womack, Matt Goslee, Hunter White, Ashton Baldwin, Cole Chesshire, and Corbin Evans.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Danny Rodgers, Brian Edwards, Michel Dean Mooney, Anna Lambeth, Eric Bray, Laura Habighorst, Joshua Pryor, BJ Fields, and the Bonnerdale Fire Department.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel- Glenwood.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Bonnerdale Seventh Day Adventist Church with Eric Bray, Bro. Mitch Elrod, and Pastor Brandon Westgate officiating.

Interment will be held at the Bonnerdale Seventh Day Adventist Cemetery.
