Jerry Leon James, 83, of Benton, passed away October 17, 2018. He was born October 9, 1935 at Crow's Station to the late Virgil and Helen (Sharp) James.
Jerry was the owner of Jerry's CB Shop in Benton for many years. He was a huge NASCAR fan with Dale Earnhardt being his favorite driver. He and his wife traveled to Daytona to watch him race. Jerry also was a fan of St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He loved all his HAM radio friends and checked in every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
Preceding Jerry in death are his parents; and brother, Don Virgil James.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and faithful wife of sixty years, Evelyn James of Benton; two sons: Don James and wife Vickie and Leon James of Benton; daughter, Jerrye James Smith of Benton; two grandchildren: Jenna James and Seth Smith; brother, Wayne James and wife Kathy of Benton; sister, Ann Perdue of Hot Springs; sister-in-law, Joyce James; and a host of family and friends who love Jerry and will miss him always.
Graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 19, at Gravel Hill Cemetery, 6519 Highway 9, Benton, Arkansas.
