Jerry Landon Jackson, 72, of Beebe, passed away May 23, 2009. He was born on his mother's birthday, November 10, 1936, a few miles outside of Beebe. He graduated from Beebe High School in 1954 and Arkansas State Teachers College in 1960. Jerry was an instructor at Pulaski County Special School District for 33 years teaching Biology at North Pulaski High School for the last 14 of those years. In addition to teaching, Jerry owned a farm on which he enjoyed raising cattle, hunting, gardening, and watching wildlife. Jerry loved life. An avid supporter of Beebe Athletics, he attended football and basketball games for over 50 years. In his retirement, he found much pleasure in golfing, genealogy, flea-marketing, civil war research, and laughing with his family and friends. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Choen O. and Pauline Pitner Jackson. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Frankie of Beebe; daughters, Julia Jackson of Little Rock and Lora Jackson of Beebe; two brothers, James Jackson of El Cajon, California and Choen Jackson, Jr. of Waukegan, Illinois; three sisters, Lula Belle Jones of Tucson, Arizona, Sara Williamson of Ecorse, Michigan, and Sandra Parisi of Lincoln Park, Michigan. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. at Beebe First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 with a reception to follow. Memorials may be made to Beebe Public Education Foundation, 1201 West Center Street, Beebe, AR 72012 or Beebe First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 302 N. Main Street, Beebe, AR 72012.
