Jerry Hunter Jones

Jerry Hunter Jones, 69, of Conway, passed away June 5, 2014. He was a son, husband, father and grandfather who left behind a legacy of living and love of the outdoors.

He was a jack of all trades but was passionate about hunting, fishing, The Razorbacks, driving fast, and living life to the fullest while he was able.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carter Irving Jones, Sr. and Mamie Marie Hayley Jones and a brother, Carter Irving Jones, Jr.

He leaves behind his children: son, Jody Jones (Natalie), daughter, Melissa Newkirk (Tim), of Greenbrier, son, Hunter Jones (Kaly) of EWA Beach, Hawaii, daughter, Jennifer Sutherland (Mike) of Enola, and son, Jerry Strader (Tanya) of Vilonia. He also had 21 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, his 2 great loves in life, Marsha Burgess and Marion Jones, and by many people who have been his friends.

Thanks to all the workers who have loved him at Conway Healthcare and Rehab for the last 15 years.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home in Conway. Burial will follow at Oakland Fraternal Cemetery in Little Rock. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
