Jennifer Lee Townsley

Jennifer Lee (Ringgold) Townsley age 39, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away surrounded by her family. Jennifer was born March 11, 1985, in Jacksonville, Arkansas to Don & Sadie (Smith) Ringgold and died on November 27, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee.

She pursued a career in nursing. First, she earned her LPN license, went on to get her Associates of Nursing, licensed as an RN, and then a Bachelor of Nursing, all while working full time and raising a daughter on her own. She was employed as a nurse manager at CHI St. Vincents and pursuing a master's in nursing before health declined. Nursing was her passion. She loved her patients and fought fiercely for them.

While earning her nursing degree, she met the love of her life, George Townsley, II. They married on September 9, 2017, at Petit Jean State Park in Morrilton, Arkansas. They blended a family of three daughters Zoe, Elizabeth and Rebecca.

Jennifer loved animals of all kinds. She had a large assortment of them. She took in her Grandma Lucy's dog, Boots, after she passed. Her house was a mini zoo at times. She had dogs, cats, hamsters, mice, spiders, crabs, fish, lizards, a one-legged bird called IHOP, and her beloved chickens. She raised a flock of chickens from tiny chicks to big egg producing hens. She named each one of her chickens and even rocked them in her lap while singing to them. Jennifer was a talented artist. She painted, drew amazing pictures, made hand crafts and had mad pie baking skills. Jennifer took after her dad in that she could fix just about anything and wasn't afraid to tackle anything. She loved shopping at flea markets, junk stores and clearance racks. She had a unique sense of humor, ready with a joke, smart remark, or movie quote at just the right time.

Jennifer held her friends and family dearly. She loved big gatherings with family and friends, especially if there was pie. She would drop everything to help her friends or family.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her grandparents, Melvin & Lucy (Collins) Ringgold and William Lee & Eva Mae (Pigeon) Smith; cousins Rebecca Jo Grass, Whitney Miller, and Sierra Hornbuckle. Jennifer is survived by her husband, George, three daughters, Zoe, Elizabeth and Rebecca of the home, her parents, Don & Sadie (Smith) Ringgold of Sherwood, Arkansas, "little" brother, Samuel Ringgold, his fiancée, Sheridan, nephew, Christian of Jacksonville; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
