Jennie Ruth (Zaloudek) Davis, 82, of North Little Rock passed away quietly Sunday, December 4, 2016.
A lifelong resident of North Little Rock, Jennie attended St. Mary's Catholic School and Church; she was a Graduate of Mount St. Mary Academy in Little Rock. In married life, she and her husband Bob were active members of St. Anne Catholic Church in North Little Rock, where they served on the parish council, participated in the church choir, and helped with the church youth organization. Jennie was a member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas for more than 50 years. She was devoted to The Blessed Sacrament, and was a part of perpetual adoration for many years, until an illness resulted in her move to assisted living in 2014.
Jennie worked for National Old Line Insurance Company in Little Rock as an Executive Assistant, rising through the ranks from a typist and secretary to become the assistant to the President and Chairman of the Board at Arkansas' once-largest financial institution.
Jennie is survived by her adoring children, Robert M. Davis, MD (Kaye) and their children Madison and Reed of Portland, Oregon; son Matt Davis of Euless, Texas; and her daughter, Cheryl Branscum (Robert) and their daughter Kaitlyn, of Daphne, Alabama; she is survived by one sister, Helen Dumboski (Robert) of North Little Rock.
Jennie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Marion Davis; by their twins John and Mary Davis; by her parents, Arthur and Frances Zaloudek, as well as her older brothers Arthur Zaloudek, Lawrence Zaloudek and Donald Zaloudek, and her sisters, Dorothy Mae Zaloudek and Catherine Zaloudek Winburn.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Robert Dumboski, Brenda Watkins and Patricia McKinley for helping Jennie in her times of greatest need; to Hardaway Cares for their critical help; to the staff and residents at Atria Senior Living of Grapevine, Texas for welcoming her into their home; and to the extraordinary people at Jack's Place Assisted Living in Euless, Texas for their compassion and companionship in her final days. Jennie was blessed in many ways, and was surrounded by outstanding caregivers, to whom she often expressed her greatest love and affection.
Jennie had a song in her heart and a story on her mind most of her days. She loved, danced and shared her beautiful life with a multitude of others in her own special way.
May the care and devotion of her life on earth find a lasting reward in heaven.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 9th followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 10th at St. Anne Catholic Church. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Jennie loved flowers, but, if you prefer, consider a gift to St. Anne Catholic Church Pastoral Care Ministry (6150 Remount Rd., North Little Rock, AR, 72118) in her memory, instead.
