Jeffrey Koehler

Jeffrey Trexler Koehler, 35, of Sherwood, died Saturday, December 15, 2018. He was born June 2, 1983 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the second of Robert Michael “Bob” and Marilyn Trexler Koehler’s four boys.

Jeff possessed a biting wit and sharp sense of humor. He was the catalyst for countless hours of banter around the Koehler family dinner table with his brothers. Famously obstinate even from a young age, he wore down his adversaries, most notably his mother, on subjects ranging from vegetables to cotillion attendance. The only reprieve from his determination came around the holidays when, like clockwork, he was always on his best behavior.

Jeff was fiercely loyal to those he loved. He was generous to a fault, a heavy tipper, and the best gift-giver come Christmastime. Jeff filled our lives with laughter and great stories, from buying a real broadsword to fend off Italian pickpockets, to his reign at Gusano’s downtown as King of the Kitchen, to his legendary Transformer battles as the “Bad Guy” foil for his nephew Henry.

He is survived by his father and mother; his brothers Dr. Andrew Michael Koehler, Stephen Robert Koehler, and David Frederick Koehler; his sisters-in-law Shelly Hogan Koehler, Catherine Corcoran Koehler, and Jessica Pruitt Koehler; his nephew Henry Hogan Koehler, nieces Mary Caroline Koehler and Evelyn Sue Koehler, along with a host of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. A wake will be held for friends and family at Bob and Marilyn’s home in Sherwood on Wednesday evening from 5:30-9:00 pm. A funeral will be held on Thursday at 10:30 am at Pleasant Ridge Church in Prescott, Arkansas. Honorary pallbearers are his brothers, nephew Henry, and his dear friends Mitchell Ross and Sam Johnson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Catholic High School for Boys, 6300 Father Tribou St., Little Rock, AR 72205.
