Jefferson Theodore Johnson, 90, of McRae, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016. He was born December 8, 1925 in Wattensaw, Arkansas to the late William Johnson and Minnie Bell Adams Johnson. He served with the United States Army during World War II. He met his wife, Jetta Faye Salmon in 1945 and they married in 1946 in White County. Jeff and Faye owned and operated numerous businesses throughout their life, including several flea markets and a grocery store. They loved to attend auctions, and Jeff was known for being a "Junk Yard John". He loved to fiddle with and collect just about anything. The kids and grandkids could always find an adventure spending time with him on the farm. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather, and his family was his greatest treasure. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; four sisters; and a grandson, Ricky Lee Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Jetta Faye Johnson; daughters, Linda Austin (Tommy), Carol Smith (Butch), and Pat Adams (John); son, Rick Johnson (Tammy); 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren; a brother, Lee Morris; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 11th at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery. Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home. www.SmithFamilyCares.com
