Jeannie Carrol (Brown) Smith, 64, of North Little Rock passed away Monday, October 8, 2012. She was a devoted employee with Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield Insurance Company for 40 years, and a Majority Rainbow member.
Jeannie was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; always putting her family first. She loved spending time with her family and her dogs, listening to classical music, playing piano and watching old black and white movies. She was an avid reader and seldom was there a time when she wasn't reading a new book.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Alesia and Jay Paul Duffy, of North Little Rock; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Cheryl Sewell, of Fayetteville; mother, Ruby J. (Bailey) Brown, of North Little Rock; three grandchildren, Lauren and Dylan Johnston and Cole Sewell; and two great-grandchildren, Aaden and Arabella Johnston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Hal" Smith; father, Melvin E. Brown and her sister, Patricia "Tish" Monk.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 909 West 2nd Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72201.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday at Grissard Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
