Jeanette Swann

Jeanette Amy Harrell Swann, 85, of North Little Rock passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2009. She was a member of the Nafec Women's Club, enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and a member of the Antique Club. She also enjoyed her children and grandchildren and visiting her family in Tennessee and Georgia. She moved to California after high school and became one of the famed "Rosie the Riveters" during WWII. December 7, 1945 she married James William Swann and lived in California where all three children were born. Jeanette and family moved to North Little Rock in 1961 and lived in Lakewood for 10 years. After living in New Jersey and Oklahoma, she returned to North Little Rock in1986 to be near her children. Jeanette was lovingly named "Meeps" by her grandchildren and was called Meeps by friends and family thereafter.
She is survived by her son, Marc (Pam) Swann, of Maumelle; two daughters, Cheryl Jones, of North Little Rock and Janet (John) Lansdowne, of Hot Springs; four grandchildren, Chris Jones, of Little Rock, Scott Jones, of Conway, Sally Risner, of Little Rock and James Swann, of Maumelle; two great grandchildren, Holdyn Jones, of North Little Rock and Austin Jones, of Conway; and three sisters, Bertie Ross, Sue Everett and Lucene Braswell, all of Georgia.
The family would like to thank all Baptist Health Hospice that took such good care of our mother. A special thank you goes out to Kathy Hammond, who became part of our family in the last two years while caring for Mom.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
