Jean Dahms

Jean Dickson Dahms of North Little Rock passed away unexpectedly while on vacation in Rome, Italy on September 4th. She was born in Pensacola, Florida on August 19, 1951 to Joe and Mary Miller Dickson.

She received her Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri. She was married to Bob Dahms on May 15, 1976.

Jean worked as Graphic Specialist for Metroplan in Little Rock for over 30 years. As an adoptive parent, she was the state representative for the North American Council on Adoptable Children for over 20 years. She was also president of Arkansas Families and Adoptable Children Together for many years. She was presented a Paul Harris Award in 2008, from Rotary International for her work with adoption.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Miller Dickson and uncle, Lucius Dickson. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Bob; a son, Joe (Shannon); a grand daughter, Kyleigh Jean, all of North Little Rock; her father, Joe Dickson of Hot Springs; two aunts, three cousins and a host of friends.

Jean will always be remembered for her zest for life, her generosity, her laughter and story-telling, and her big heart. She will be sorely missed but leaves behind many wonderful memories.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock. P.O. Box 2222, Little Rock, Arkansas 72203.

Visitation will held from 4-6 p.m. Friday, September 17 with services on Saturday, September 18 at 11 a.m. Both visitation and services will be held at the North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 N. Main Street. . Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
