J.B. Sanford

Junior Bert "J.B." Sanford, 86, of Traskwood, Arkansas passed away October 28, 2018. He was born October 31, 1931 in Conway, Arkansas to the late Edgar Bert and Gracie (Andrews) Sanford.
J.B. proudly served in the United States Army. During the Korean War, he earned the Korean Service Medal with three bronze service stars; the United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. Following his military service, J.B. drove coast to coast as a truck driver with Adams Trucking. He loved spending time with his family and friends and never met a stranger. Fishing and hunting were a few of his favorite hobbies. J.B.'s father passed down a love of watching wrestling matches live or on TV. J.B. was a faithful follower of the Razorbacks. He enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center playing BINGO and other activities with his friends.
Preceding J.B. in death are his parents; son, Rick Sanford; and brother, Charles "Sonny" Sanford.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Doug Sanford and wife Judy of Traskwood; three daughters: Jill Pope of Traskwood, Penny Moneypenny of Little Rock, and Trudy Ross of Enid, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; brother, Danny Joe Sanford and wife Gail; two sisters: Dorothy Kelley and husband Jay and Bobbie Staiger and husband Dick; and a host of family and friends who love J.B. and will miss him always.
Reception visitation will be held from 3:00-4:00, Friday, November 2, followed by memorial service at 4:00 PM at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Arkansas.
