Jay Sanders

Jay Sanders, 45, peacefully passed away at home on March 16, 2025. Born on August 8, 1979, in South Bend, Indiana, Jay leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, dedication, and strong faith.

Jay committed himself to serving his country by joining the Army. His dedication to duty and service was a testament to his character and shaped much of who he was. As a combat veteran, he developed a close bond of unity and trust with his brothers in arms, whom he considered family.

He was also known for his great sense of humor, which was often laced with a sarcastic edge. He loved to tease, but it was evident to all who were close to him that he held his family close to his heart.

A member of Holland Chapel, Jay attended services until health challenges prevented him from doing so. No matter what Jay was going through, or how he was feeling, his faith in God remained firm. His interests spanned many activities; he enjoyed hunting and fishing, showed a love for drawing, and considered himself something of a grill master due to his grilling skills.

Jay’s memory is left to be cherished by his loving wife of 17 years, Kimberly Sanders; his children: Haley, Ethan, Stacikay, Carter, Jack, and Ava; grandchildren: Rayelynn and Harper; mother: Patti Lee; siblings: Amber (Sargon) and Julie (Matt); nephews: Aden and Nico; along with many close family and friends, especially his best friends Rodney Spurlin and Trenton Palmer.

Jay is preceded by his father: Douglas Sanders, as well as his grandparents: John and Patricia Stratton.

To honor and celebrate Jay's life, a visitation will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM, at Smith Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, Arkansas, 72015.

Jay was a special individual who touched the hearts and lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Those he leaves behind will forever cherish the moments they shared and the laughter he brought into their lives. Jay Sanders will be deeply missed but remembered fondly by all who knew him.
