Janis Tomczak

Janis Kay Tomczak, 71, of Maumelle, passed away September 2, 2020. Jan fought her cancer as hard as she could, maintaining a positive attitude. Jan was a Registered Nurse at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock for 44 years and absolutely loved her job and her work family. She loved animals especially her horses and Dobermans Porsche, Hannah, Zoey, and Lexi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Mary Ruth Tomczak., her soulmate, Steve Barbour, and brother, Keith Tomczak, she is survived by her sister, Laurel Hendricks, niece Jennifer, nephew Bryan and many cousins; her friends and caregivers, Michelle Murtha of Maumelle and Michele Abraham of Little Rock; her hospital CPRU family.

Special thanks to her dear friend Dr. Ken Robbins, the special nurses at Baptist that went above and beyond, CARTI, Baptist Hospices, Wright By Your Side In Home Care, Tina, Marshelle and Jessica.

Services will be Saturday, September 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.).  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Out of the Woods Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 7365, Little Rock, AR 72217. Covid-19 guidelines regarding wearing masks and social distancing will be observed.
