Janice Marie Tolleson Ward, age 81, of Kirby, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 14, 2023.
She was born on April 13, 1942, in Kirby, the daughter of V. Carl Tolleson and Lottie Johnson Tolleson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dr. Hiram Ward; her brother and sister-in-law, JC and Claudette Tolleson; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Harloe White; her niece, Kimberly Chambers; and her brother-in-law, Loy Fay Buck.
Janice was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She dearly loved her husband, Hiram, and cared for him until his death. She was passionate about her work in nursing for 40 years at the Pike County Hospital. She leaves behind so many memories for her family and friends to find comfort in.
Janice was a member of the Kirby Church of Christ.
She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Cherry and Larry Mantooth and Melanie and Tim Trout, all of Kirby; her two sons, Eddie Pipkins and Marty Pipkins, both of Kirby; her grandchildren, Dustin Mantooth, Monica Wright, Jesse Pipkins, Andrew Pipkins, Warner Pipkins, Marly Holmes, Nicole Stevens, Morgan Ewing and Travis Ward; several great-grandchildren; her stepchildren and their spouses, Richard and Judy Ward of California, Hank Chaney of Murfreesboro, and Ruth Ward of Little Rock; her three sisters, Kate Buck, Patsy Foshee and Brenda Mason; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 18, 2023, in the Ebenezer Cemetery, near Kirby, with Stan White and Pete Pedron officiating.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Mantooth, Warner Pipkins, Dustin Holmes, Jesse Pipkins, Lance Wright, Andrew Pipkins, and Billy Don Tolleson.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Elite Home Health of Nashville, Hospice Home Care of Hot Springs, and her special caregivers, Jamie Pipkins and Debbie Jo Hill.
Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Glenwood, 209 North Third Street, Glenwood, Arkansas.
