Janice Ruth Runyan, age 83, passed away on January 10, 2024. She was born on November 3, 1940 to Harmon and Jewel Townsend. Janice lived a fulfilling life surrounded by her loved ones.

Janice was known for her love of gardening and spending time in her yard. She had a special fondness for flowers, particularly roses. Her yard was a testament to her green thumb and served as a sanctuary where she found solace and happiness.

Family was at the center of Janice's life, particularly her grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Their presence brought immeasurable joy and fulfillment to her life. Janice cherished every moment spent with them and relished in watching them grow.

Lake living held a special place in Janice's heart. It was her favorite pastime that she eagerly shared with her family and friends. The serene beauty of the lake brought tranquility and peace to her soul. Janice enjoyed creating lasting memories by organizing gatherings where everyone could come together and appreciate the joys of life.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Harmon and Jewel Townsend, as well as her brother Harmon "Jupe" Townsend, and her grandson Aaron Jenks.

Janice is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Travis Runyan, her three daughters Angie Zimmerman of Locksburg, AR., Cindy Sightes (Billy Pope) of Austin TX., Tabitha Runyan of Bella Vista AR., two sons Kenneth Sightes of Hot Springs AR., and Chris Runyan (Leila) of Rogers AR., and her sister Joan Schattle of Dierks, AR.

A legacy of love lives on through Janice's ten grandchildren: Corey Jenks (Dana) of Baltimore; Nick McJunkins (Betsy) of Locksburg AR., Dr. Taylor Smithee of Austin TX., Dr. Adam Smithee (Courtney) of Austin TX., Dr. Will Smithee (Ashlyn) of New Orleans LA., Rhett Runyan, Luke Runyan, Delilah Runyan, Dean Cunningham, Gavin Cunningham, as well as her seven great-grandchildren Frida, Michael, Kessie, Kolson, Ellie, Reese, and Declan, and many nieces and nephews.

Janice also leaves behind her beloved black pug, Brutus, who brought companionship and laughter to her life.
