Janet Lois Davis

Janet Lois Davis arrived in the earth on December 28, 1956 in Philadelphia, PA through the union of James and Bessie Kennedy. She is the fourth of seven siblings. She was a woman of strong faith and lived out that faith during her time here. Janet was a peacemaker. (Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the sons and daughters of God. Matt 5:9)
Janet was a life-long learner achieving a Master’s degree in Business Administration. She used her knowledge, gifts and talents to inform, inspire and encourage the people she encountered in her life’s journey. Janet’s long career included employment with Boeing in St. Louis, MO and Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Janet was an avid bowler. She shared the love of this hobby with her beloved mother.
Janet possessed a quiet strength that she carried with grace. Although we can no longer touch or see the vessel that carried her Spirit here on earth, we can visit her in our thoughts and always remember her smile.
Family and close friends witnessed Janet’s courage as she battled the enemy that had invaded her body. She did not surrender but allowed God to step in.
Janet is preceded in death by her grandfather, George Bing, grandmother, Rose Edna Green, father, James L. Kennedy, sister Debra J. Kennedy and niece, Ardonnya Harris.
Janet is survived by her mother, Bessie M. Kennedy; son and daughter-in-law Brian and Angela Clay; grandchildren Jordan, Phoenyx and Brian Jr; sisters and brothers, Edna (Bill) Jeffries, Mary Ann Harris, Sandra (Phillip) Stovall Walker, James (Agnes) Kennedy and Melvin (Gala) Kennedy; the Clay family; dear friends Karen Tomlin, Deidra Pearson, Robin Thompson, Diane Strother and Elaine Richardson.
