Janell Downes

Janell Downes, 72, of Cabot passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014. She was born October 6, 1941 in Enola, Arkansas to the late Davis and Stella May McDowell Rickett. She was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren and loved to quilt and sew.
She is survived by her husband, David W. Downes; daughter, Pam Payne, of Oppelo; three sons, Allan Downes, David Ray Downes and Richard Downes (Marion), all of Cabot; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anita Charette, of Austin and Louise Gossett, of Ward; brother, Brenton Rickett of Jacksonville; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jeannie Anderson; four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday at North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m., Saturday in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com .
