Jamie Lee (Etchieson) Phelps, 84, passed away January 30, 2008. She was born June 30, 1923, in Antoine, Arkansas, to Charles Stephen and Jettie Johnson Etchieson. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church of Arkadelphia, an avid gardener and homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Paul L. Phelps and a sister, Alice Mayo.
She is survived by a son Bob Phelps and his wife Lane of Maumelle, a daughter, Terri VanHouten of Little Rock, granddaughters, Ashley Phelps of Little Rock and Megan Granberry (Chris) of Perry, 3 great-grandsons, Lane, Tucker and Dawson Granberry, one brother, Jerry Etchieson (Emma Ruth) of Clear Springs, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 12 noon, Saturday, February 2nd at First United Methodist Church of Arkadelphia, followed by the service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Carroll Jackson and Rev. Carla Ray Thompson officiating. Burial will be at the Okolona Cemetery under the direction of the Ruggles - Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
