James "Jim" Freeland

James “Jim” Wesley Freeland, 58, of North Little Rock passed away July 13, 2019.  He was born August 13, 1960 in Star City to Dr. James Wesley and Barbara Ann Freeland. He is survived by his mother; son, Wesley Taylor Freeland (Sarah Jo), and grandson, Owen Elijah Freeland; siblings, Jan F. Griffin (Dr. Shelley) of Waynesboro, Ga., Barbara Ann “Bobbie” Bantz (John); nieces and nephews, Dr. John Freeland Jayroe (Colleen), David Lester Jayroe, Sudie Griffin Langford (Dr. Jeff) of Macon, Ga., Shelley Cates Griffin of Augusta, Ga., Dr. Jim Freeland Griffin of Houston, Texas; and two great nephews, Alan and Griffin Langford. Jim was preceded in death by his father.

Jim was a certified property manager with Associated Management for thirty six years.  Outside of work, he was a creative, romantic man who was passionate about poetry and music.  He was a history buff, especially interested in the Civil War.  Jim also enjoyed watching baseball, football and going to the horse races in Hot Springs.  He loved spending time with his family and friends most of all.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 18, 2019 in the funeral home chapel. A private burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Pine Bluff.
