James L. "Jimmy" Younts, Jr., 56, of Little Rock, passed away December 11, 2009. Born May 22, 1953 in Little Rock to James L. Younts, Sr. and Dee Goff Younts, he attended North Little Rock schools and graduated from Northeast High School in 1971. He was a member of the All-State Football team and a Golden Glove Boxing champion. Jimmy worked for Little Rock Road Machinery Company and Younts Equipment Company. He was the fundraising chairman for Ducks Unlimited for several years, and was a member of Parkview Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Dodge Younts; his daughter, Jessica Nicole Watt (Chris); stepdaughter, Rachel Barton and her son, Donovan Jalihal; his parents, Jim and Dee Younts; and his sister, Jo Lynn Younts (Brett) and her children, James Cody Church and Lacy Ellis and husband, Mark and their son, Cade.
Services will be Thursday, Dec. 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), officiated by Rev. Paul Holderfield, followed by interment at Rest Hills Memorial Park in Sherwood. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Morales and the nursing staff of the Intensive Care Unit at UAMS.
