James Young

Lt. Colonel (Ret.) James D. Young, 65, of Jacksonville passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018. He was born October 3, 1952 in Wichita, Kansas to Delbert and Inez Harden Young. He was a member of Levy Church of Christ, an alumnus of Arkansas Tech University, the American Legion, and an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. Jim worked for Wal-Mart as a project manager on the remodel team. He loved hunting and fishing and was an avid Razorback fan.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Young; daughters, Daphne Flynn (Mike), Katie Young and Jennifer Alexander; grandchildren, Michael, Mindy, Aiden and Brenden; four great-grandchildren; brother, Marcal Young (Sandy); and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Levy Church of Christ, 5124 Camp Robinson Road, North Little Rock 72118. Burial with military honors will follow in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Arkansas or Levy Church of Christ.
