James Wesley Williams

James Wesley Williams, 88, of the East End Community, was called home on Saturday, August 20, 2022.  James was born in Haynesville, Louisiana to the late Ferman W. and Allie Mae Wise Williams. He enjoyed privileges of being one the youngest. James met the love of his life, Grace Marie Twining, on a double date with his brother Hollis and her sister Illene. This double date would lead to their eventual marriage and life together. They married in 1960.

James and Grace had a unique relationship with his brother Hollis and her sister Illene, who would also marry. The unique relationship of 2 brothers marrying 2 sisters would always bring a smile and conversation to all that would meet them. You would rarely see two of them without all four.

James would spend his professional career as a painting contractor that spanned over 40 years. He and Grace were charter members of Springlake Church of the Nazarene. James enjoyed the outdoors, specifically hunting, work in the yard, and gardening. He will be remembered for his graciousness of giving out his vegetables and placing candy into the hands of children at church. But his greatest joys in his life revolved around being a father to his daughter, Stephanie, and his grandsons, Jordan and Michael, who he and Grace raised from a young age.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Grace Williams; his parents; siblings Bonnie King, Hollis Williams, Margaret Wallace, and Jerry Williams.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Stephanie Millsapps (Scott) of Independence, Missouri; grandsons Jordan Millsapps and Michael Millsapps (Hunter), of East End, Arkansas; great-grandsons Jacob & Nolan Millsapps, of East End, Arkansas; and an extended host of family and friends who will miss him dearly.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his church family at Springlake Church of the Nazarene who provided meals and assistance over the last 4 years and to Sheridan Health & Rehab for the care they provided to James during his last weeks and also the staff of Arkansas Hospice Pine Bluff . Special thanks to Jordan, for living and taking care of James since the passing of his wife.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Salem Cemetery, 20621 Arch St., Little Rock, AR 72206 or to Springlake Church of the Nazarene, 21607 N. Springlake Rd. Hensley, AR 72065.
