James Edward Walker, 84, of North Little Rock, died Thursday July 3, 2014. He was a 1948 graduate of North Little Rock High School. He retired from the Iron Workers Union Local 321. James worked for Pickens and Bonds Construction and Quick Erectors out of St. Louis. After retirement he opened and operated R & J Automotive with his son Richard. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars and "piddling". He had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger.
He was survived by three daughters, Donna Walker, Lisa (Sandy) Downs, Peggy Russell; two sons Jim (Shirley) Walker, Richard (Kat) Walker; five grandchildren Chris (Sonja) Walker, Kevin Walker, Spencer Russell, Megan (James) Vandament, Grayson Walker; five great-grandchildren Blakley, Tyler, Hunter, Jackson, Lilee; his four-legged babies, Rascal & Sophie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elsie Walker, brother, Kenneth "Tink" Walker and sister, Marion Walker.
