James W. Baker, age 68, of Royal, died Saturday, June 6, 2020.
He was born on November 28, 1951, in Pineland, Texas, the son of George M. Baker and Lucille Bell Baker. On November 11, 2006, he married Karen Imerson. He was preceded in death by one son, Craig Baker; his parents; and two sisters, Lucy Eckerman and Mary Pleahn.
James was a farmer and he worked for many years as an oilfield mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Baker of Royal; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael and Amy Baker of Hot Springs, Joe and Allie Camp of Conroe, Texas, and Cory Camp of Los Angeles, California; four grandchildren, Joshua Baker, Morgyn Baker, Parker Camp and Asher Camp; three brothers, Rudolph Baker, Floyd Baker and Lonnie Baker; three sisters, Floyce Wilson, Naomi Cowart and Lawanna Pierce; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 13, 2020, in the Peak Cemetery, with Bro. Greg Cowart officiating under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
The family has requested that those in attendance of the visitation and service to bring your own lawn chair.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until service time, at the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lonnie Baker, Joshua Baker, Tom Horn, Sam Wilson, Steve Richardson, Chad Powell, Joe Camp and Cory Camp.
