James Vogelgesang

James "Jim" Edward Vogelgesang, 55, of Little Rock, died Saturday, August 8, 2009. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on March 12, 1954. He graduated in 1976 from UALR School of Journalism with a BA in Journalism/Public Relations/Advertising. In 2004, he graduated as an Arkansas Governmental Manager and in 2005 as a Certified Public Manager from the Arkansas Public Administration Consortium/UALR. Prior to his decease, Jim worked as Statistical Analysis Manager in the Division of Youth Services (DYS) at Department of Human Services. Previously, he had worked as Senior Auditor/Monitoring Manager at DYS, worked as a Grants Administrator at Pulaski County Administrative Services and was a Public Affairs Specialist at Arkansas Employment Security Department. He was Public Relations Counsel for the Area Health Education Centers and Publications Editor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Jim was Advertising Manager for Club Products Division of Regal Ware, Inc., in Jacksonville, Arkansas. He also worked as Public Relations Account Executive at Cranford Johnson Hunt & Associates, as Accounts Supervisor at Smith & Jennings, Inc., and as Account Executive at SM Brooks Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations Agency, Inc., in Little Rock.
Jim was highly respected for his talents, brilliance & work ethics. He was kind, sensitive, gentle, witty, and a prince of a man who was loved by everyone who knew him. He was a devoted family man who's first priority was to love and take care of his family. Jim enjoyed photography, golf, fishing, cooking, animals, collecting toy automobiles, gardening, travel and spending time with his family.
Jim was predeceased by his father, William "Bill" George Vogelgesang. He is survived by his wife, Janet Meurer Vogelgesang, his mother, Imogene Harris Vogelgesang and two sons, Bentley "Ben" James Vogelgesang and Barrett "Barry" Baker Vogelgesang.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 18, 2009, from 6:00 - 8:00p.m., at Little Rock Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at 11:00a.m., in the Chapel of Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock, AR., with Reverend Jeff Price officiating. Interment will follow at Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle, AR.
