James D. (Jimmy) Tucker , age 71, died Wednesday, January 9, 2008 in Little Rock. He was born October 16, 1936 the son of James Doyle and Mary Adell Dixon Tucker. Jimmy served in the U. S. Navy, Arkansas National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserves. He operated a cattle farm and several small business ventures including Tucker's Grocery in Curtis. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Curtis.
Survivors include three sons, James D. "Sonny" Tucker of Benton, Benny and Brandon Tucker both of Curtis, his mother Mary Adell Tucker of Curtis, one brother Ricky Tucker of Curtis, two sisters, Janie Newton and Charlotte Chitwood both of Arkadelphia, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Friday in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Rev. Benny Grant and Rev. Sonny Tucker officiating. Burial will be in the Richwoods Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation but the body will lie in state from 4-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
