James David Thompson Sr

James David Thompson Sr., 85, of Alexander, Arkansas passed away November 15, 2022. James was born October 18, 1937 to the late Virgil Thompson and Norma Ruth (Anderson) Thompson.

James was an iron worker for most of his life. He always stayed busy. James enjoyed working on small engines, working with leather, making knives and doing anything outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was talented in everything that he did and was even a mechanic when he needed to be. James was an amazing father. He loved watching old western movies and listening to western music. He enjoyed eating Sonic ice cream, but only without the cherry on top.

James is preceded in death by his parents Virgil Thompson and Norma Ruth (Anderson) Thompson; and sister, Bernice.

James is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jackie Thompson; daughter, Terri Punland and husband, Steve; son, David Thompson and wife, Tammy; grandchildren: Justin and wife, Meghan, and Trevor; great-grandchildren: Tristan and Chasstie; brothers, Edwin and wife, Janet, and Bill and wife, Loretta; as well as many other family members and friends that will all miss him dearly.

A Memorial Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 22 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St, Benton, 72015.
