James Summers

James A. Summers, 86, of Sherwood, passed away on April 13, 2018. Born in Calumet, Michigan, to Rev. J.T. & Ethel Summers, he was the grandson of Dr. J. A. & Ollie Summers, all of whom preceded him in death. His twin brother, J.T. Summers, Jr. also preceded him in death.
He retired as Deputy Chief of Operations, Little Rock Air Force Base, and was a member of IBEW Local 295.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores Summers; sisters: Betty Cleckley and Harriet Hardy; children: James, Jr. of California, Sharon Rice of Montana, and Karen Hallmark of Texas; step-children: William Duce, Deanna Hatfield (Dr. Patrick), and John Duce (Sherri), all of Arkansas; grandchildren: Matt Summers, Mandy Summers, Jackie Summers, Britannia Rice, and Bobby Rice; step-grandchildren: Ansley Duce, John Henry Duce, Andrew Hatfield, Allison Hatfield and Katie Dunn; great-grandchildren: Ariel Summers and Brayden Giordano. He is, also, survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials can be made to Sherwood Animal Shelter or to Sherwood First Baptist Church.
